For the first time in school history we won a home playoff game this afternoon, a 29-12 victory over Jones County. We led 14-0 at the half and led 22-0 before they scored in the 4th quarter. A long touchdown run in the mid 4th quarter put us up 29-6 and we took it home from there. I will post stats and photos in the next blog entry so be on the lookout for those. It was fun to see so many of you there on a Tuesday afternoon. To the rest, thanks for the words of encouragement and for your support.
For those following the injury situation, Cody Weiss did not play; he dressed, but we did not plan to use him unless necessary. Thankfully, he has another six days for the ankle to heal. Philip Seaman had his thumb pinned, and that is in a cast. Levi Stiegelmeier, who was injured in practice a few weeks ago, will have surgery on his ACL in early November. Brad Bridgman is still out with post-concussion syndrome. Again, please keep these young men in your prayers, and if you think of it, drop them a note of encouragement.
We now await the winner of Scotland-Gettysburg to see who we play in round 2.
Way to go Crusaders. Looking forward to hearing the results of your next game. Coach Mac alot of serious injuries for one season. Don't remember having that many when we played. I guess the players are alot bigger and stronger these days. See alot of those ACL reconstructions here in our practice in Greenville. Tell your players we will be praying for them, especially the injured ones.
