Jones Country Wrap-up

For those interested in seeing statistics from the Jones County game, you will find them here. I will give you a usable link to our cumulative stats in a later post. Stats can be mis-leading, but one that has definitely been to our advantage for most of the year is turnover margin. In nine games so far, we have a +13 margin (14 turnovers compared to 27 by our opponents), including none in the last three games. We hope that continues.

Our second round playoff game is in Gettysburg on Monday evening at 6:30. We will get more information to you as that comes out.

Jones County - SBA 29 JC 12

For the first time in school history we won a home playoff game this afternoon, a 29-12 victory over Jones County. We led 14-0 at the half and led 22-0 before they scored in the 4th quarter. A long touchdown run in the mid 4th quarter put us up 29-6 and we took it home from there. I will post stats and photos in the next blog entry so be on the lookout for those. It was fun to see so many of you there on a Tuesday afternoon. To the rest, thanks for the words of encouragement and for your support.

For those following the injury situation, Cody Weiss did not play; he dressed, but we did not plan to use him unless necessary. Thankfully, he has another six days for the ankle to heal. Philip Seaman had his thumb pinned, and that is in a cast. Levi Stiegelmeier, who was injured in practice a few weeks ago, will have surgery on his ACL in early November. Brad Bridgman is still out with post-concussion syndrome. Again, please keep these young men in your prayers, and if you think of it, drop them a note of encouragement.

We now await the winner of Scotland-Gettysburg to see who we play in round 2.

Playoffs - Round 1

We will host Jones County here at SBA on Tuesday afternoon @ 2:00 P.M in the first round of the playoffs. The game will be broadcast on KPLO FM at 94.5. This is SBA's first time to host a playoff game, so it should be much fun. We would love to have a lot of fans there, so please make it if you can. If not, you can catch us on the radio or the web from the Dakota Radio Group web site. Hope to see you there! Playoff pairings can be found here. Hit the link for 9B; we are in Region 3.

Highmore Game

We won the game 28-0, scoring 14 in each half. Due to the Jones County loss to New Underwood, we secured the #2 seed in the region and will host the first round game on Tuesday afternoon here at SBA. We are awaiting word, as I type, the pairings. You may see them here, as soon as posted.
We had two injuries last night. Cody Weiss injured an ankle and Philip Seaman hurt his hand; please keep them in your prayers.

Highmore / Playoffs

We will go to Highmore tonight to play Highmore-Harrold in our last regular season game. It looks as though we will be playing Jones County next Tuesday in the first round of the playoffs; they host New Underwood this evening. It will be close, but if we win and Jones County loses, we will host them on Tuesday at SBA. If they win, they will host, regardless of the outcome of our game. You may look at the power points as of now here. Hope to see many of you in Highmore.
